Understanding Common Data Loss Prices and Costs
Our data recovery prices are simple flat rates. We quote based on the problem with the drive. Level 1 & 2 is for software issues and Level 3 & 4 is for hardware problems. Depending on how bad your drive is will depend on which price you will get quoted. Most of our prices are no data no pay. This means that in a rare situations, if we do not get data back from a drive then we do not charge for the service. Our Level 4 has an upfront non refundable data recovery attempt fee. This price is for drives that require spare parts that need to be replaced inside our clean room. It covers the cost of all resources required to give the drive the best chance of success. It also means that we do not take short cuts on the quality of service. An inexperienced recovery service will try to short cut these necessary expenses. All our prices include goods and services tax. We also have Australia's largest spare parts inventory which is available to our competitors.
🟢 Accidental Deletion (Affordable)
Accidentally deleting a file might seem catastrophic, but it's often the simplest and least expensive data loss situation to address. This is because deleted files, although no longer immediately visible, remain on the storage device until new data overwrites them. Consequently, with the right data recovery software, they can be promptly restored.
🟡 Logical Failure (Moderate)
Logical failures encompass issues related to file access that arise from non-mechanical causes, like directory damage from malware attacks, master boot record corruption, or unintentional formatting. Often, data from a logically compromised storage device can only be retrieved when the device is connected to another computer and scanned in read-only mode—a capability beyond the scope of many DIY solutions.
🟠 Mechanical Failure (Expensive)
If your hard drive begins emitting unusual sounds, suffers water damage, or unexpectedly fails, you're faced with a significant challenge. Mechanical issues can be costly to address due to the need for replacement parts, sophisticated techniques and tools, and a specialized cleanroom environment.
